A Fantastic Month for Kouros Representing GB

Kouro’s great run of national and international events started back in April where he won the LTA grade 2 in Wrexham.

Kouro’s great run of national and international events started back in April where he won the LTA grade 2 in Wrexham. The following week again in Wrexham saw him compete in a tennis Europe under 14 event where he reached the semis of singles and lost in the final of doubles.

He then moved on to the grass down in Gloucester for the LTA grade 1 Summer National Tour which saw him take third place in the singles "playing on grass for the first time was challenging but I really enjoyed it."

Shortly after that Kouros was competing again on grass at a very strong Tennis Europe grade 1 event at the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton. A tough draw saw him up against the no.1 from Slovenia in an excellent battle which he narrowly lost 7-5 in the second set. Chris Sanderson was there to support Kouros and said “I was very impressed with his professional approach to this event which put him in amongst some of the strongest U14 players in the world - a great experience for him.

It was then back onto the clay in Slovenia when he was chosen for an LTA trip for two weeks of TennisEurope events again he battled well against strong opponents in the singles and showed his excellent doubles ability by reaching the doubles final of an under16 draw.

The highlight of this competitive period was being selected to travel to France to represent GB in a3 player under 14 Summer Cup team. After convincing wins over Israel andPortugal both 3-0 victories, the GB the team were beaten eventually in a deciding doubles with the score line of 1-2 by Italy who won the event overall.“I have loved every minute of my tournaments and the experience it's given me to reach my goal of being a professional player.
