Will Stars in Tennis Europe

Whitley Bay boy and academy youngster Will Gray is enjoying a week of training after recording the biggest wins so far by reaching Round 3 at the 14U Tennis Europe event in Bolton.

Gray, 13, made the most of a main draw wild card by beating French youngster Leo Raquin in Round One, before another impressive victory over third seed Croat Mili Poljicak, 6-1 6-1. Will was finally stopped in his subsequent match against eventual finalist, the American Alexander Bernard.

Will has trained at the academy for over 5 years since starting his tennis at Beverley Park LTC, and is now looking forward to a lot of hard work and, hopefully, fewer terrible jokes, as he works to build on his excellent start to 2017.
