Simon Telfer

Having played tennis to a county standard and loved most sports as a kid, it was inevitable that Simon would be involved in sports as an adult. He has been coaching tennis and at the Northumberland Tennis Academy since 2004, and during this time he has also held various Head Coach positions at other local tennis clubs within the region.  

Simon’s coaching highlights include coaching numerous mini tennis players (U10) to a national level, who have since continued their tennis journey to play at an international level.

Creating an enthusiastic and engaging environment where players feel comfortable is Simon’s priority. With his sessions being challenging, but enjoyable, he knows how to get the best out of players. In addition to the technical, tactical, physical, and mental side of tennis, the players he coaches learn the importance of listening and good sportsmanship.

Simon enjoys working for our academy, as it provides him with the opportunity to work with kids of all ages and abilities before they embark on their next step in their tennis and education. Seeing the players grow both as tennis players and as individuals is something that Simon enjoys.
